Fire Door Inspection Reports UK
What is included in the Fire Door Inspection Report?
Upon completion of the Fire Door Inspection, your Fire Door Inspector will provide you with a detailed Fire Door Inspection Report. This may take up to 5 working days depending on the quantity of fire doors that we have inspected.
The Fire Door Inspection Report is a document that you will receive from us which provides detailed information about the condition, compliance, and functionality of fire doors within your building. This report is typically generated after a comprehensive inspection and evaluation of all fire doors in the facility.
If any of the fire doors within the fire door inspection report are identified as failing to comply with UK Fire Safety Regulations, the ‘responsible person’ will be required to take appropriate action by way of instructing repairs, remedial work and fire door maintenance. The report will list all fire doors within the building, along with their locations, including specific room or area designations. QR codes upon request.
Description of Doors:
Each fire door will be described in terms of its type, size, material, and any unique features. Photographs of the doors will also be taken and retained as evidence for the final inspection report.
Fire Rating:
The report will specify the fire rating of each fire door, indicating the duration for which the door is designed to resist fire.
Inspection Findings
The report will detail the findings of the inspection, including any deficiencies, damage, or issues identified with the fire doors.
Compliance Status:
The compliance status of each fire door will be assessed based on applicable building codes, standards, and regulations. This includes evaluating factors such as proper installation, maintenance, labeling, and operation.

The report may include recommendations for addressing any deficiencies or issues identified during the inspection. This could involve repairs, replacements, maintenance actions, or upgrades to ensure the fire doors meet required standards and specifications.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH UK FIRE DOOR REGS:
If the fire door inspection report identifies any doors that fail to meet current UK Fire Door Regulations, the ‘responsible person’ will be required to undertake fire door repairs and fire door remedial work to the offending fire doors in order to comply with UK Fire Safety Law. In the event that a fire door is unable to be ‘repaired’ to the standard required, a new fire door installation will be required. Find out more.
Comprehensive Fire Door Inspections
Understanding fire safety legislation can be daunting. PGEG Fire Door Inspections specialises in fire door inspections, offering valuable advice in regards to your legal duties and obligations in this area. Our fire door inspections are comprehensive, and involve examination of door components, gaps, seals, self-closing mechanism and hardware. Verifying labels and certifications are present and conform to BS EN standards also ensures your compliance with UK Fire Safety Regulations.
Fire Door Inspection Reports & Digital Reports
PGEG Fire Door Inspections have refined our in-house software applications to enable our fire door inspectors to produce comprehensive, digital, fire door inspection findings on each, individual fire door within the fire door inspection, presented in a detailed, overall final inspection report. This report will determine your compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and will outline recommendations to address identified deficiencies in line with current UK Fire Regulations.
Fire Door Maintenance and Remedial Repairs
Fire door maintenance is a critical aspect of building management, as well as being a statutory, legal requirement for all businesses. In the event that a fire door inspection report identifies non-compliance with fire door safety, PGEG Fire Door Inspections can assist with remedial repairs to address and fix any issues. This may be as simple as replacing intumescent seals or fire door hardware, or where a repair will not ensure compliance, we can arrange for brand new fire doors to be installed.
Fire Door Compliance: Comprehensive Fire Door Inspections
Our fire door inspections are comprehensive. Our final report will enable you, as the ‘responsible person’ to carry out or instruct a ‘competent person’ to complete any necessary remedial work to ensure your fire doors are compliant.
Further inspections are advised every 6-12 months by a ‘competent person’ to inspect the doors. For some buildings, these checks are advised every 3 months. Please contact us or call us on 0800 056 3925 to discuss these requirements and we will advise you accordingly.
